Running the Riverbank Run 25K with Team Lighthouse

I've signed up to run the Fifth/Third Riverbank Run 25k on May 10, 2014. I've run it once in the past and need something to get me out the door at the end of this way-too-much-snow winter (130+ inches here in Holland, and counting...).

This time I'm running it as an extended member of Team Lighthouse, raising a few bucks for Lighthouse Family Retreats (LFR). I say "extended" as typically Team Lighthouse runs races down in the Atlanta area, but offers others the chance to run their favorite race in support of LFR. As you probably recall, LFR has had a wonderful spot in our family's life post-diagnosis.

Realizing that you, our friends and family, have already given much to our family and supported us as we have reached out to serve others affected by childhood cancer, I totally understand if you're not looking for one more thing. However, if you have a few funds in your "giving fund" (as we call it in our family), Lighthouse Family Retreats would be a great place to give a tax-deductible donation.

My goal is to raise $250.00 which will enable LFR to fund two ice cream parties for the kids while retreat parents are off on a "date night." The photo is from the ice cream and movie night when we volunteered last summer.

Thanks for your support!

(And one more time, here's the link to my fundraising page.)
